<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The ICC's Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits are rules governing the use of documentary credits virtually worlwide. Developed more than 60 years ago by the ICC's Commission on Banking Technique and Practice, the UCP remains a living text. To keep the rules up to date, the Commission renders expert "Opinios" on practical issues involving UCP raised by commercial parties. The present edition covers the years 1987-1988, though allowance has been made for certain queries finalized in April 1989.</abstract>
