<abstract displayLabel="Summary">This book measures the progress made in defining and differentiating insurance coverage for the risk of liability for damage caused by pollution of the environment. Policy clauses, endorsements and special forms used in 20 countries are analysed and compared to identify the best method of distinguishing reliably between those elements of the pollution risk that present no special problems and therefore can safely be included in standard coverages and, on the other side, those that are still incalculable and unmanageable with the tools of conventional insurance</abstract>
