Bankers spent a greater percentage of budget on third-party services; insurers spent more on licenses and maintenance -- Nearly half of bankers plan to increase risk and compliance spend by at least 5% in 2010; 15% will boost more than 10% -- Insurers plan more modest security spending increases; nearly a third plan on increasing data security spend by 5% or more -- Fifty-three percent of bankers plan to increase spend on new security tech; all forms of staffing also expect healthy growth -- Biggest increases for insurers are coming from new, upgraded tech; more likely to keep direct security staff spend even with 2009 -- Nearly 60% of bankers say the economy will drive need for business cases; insurers somewhat more likely to put projects on hold
