The analysis examines five- and 10-year averages of several measures to compare the relative financial success of individual companies. Average results over 10 years were deeply affected by the weak operating performance of 2000-2002, and average performance over the last five years, versus the last 10 differs somewhat for the industry, and considerably for a few insurers</subfield>
