<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El seguro agrícola en su modalidad tradicional se inició en Turquía en 1957. Aunque la población rural constituye un gran porcentaje de la población total de Turquía, antes de la creación de TARSIM solamente estaba asegurado el 0,5% de las zonas agrícolas del país. En la actualidad, el seguro cubre tanto las cosechas como el ganado.</abstract>
