<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Someone once said that during good economic times, people collect art, but during bad economic times, people invest in art. Over the course of history, in times of economic uncertainty people have often looked to invest in tangible assets such as commodities, gold, art and wine that are resistant to depreciating real currencies. Another category experiencing strong sales is that of car collecting, particularly vintage cars. Like fine art and vintage cars, the fine wine market is booming. In addition to a policy that is appropriate for a collection it is important to take preventative measures to keep valuables safe. The following tips may seem obvious but it is usually such precautions that are overlooked in risk managing a valuable collection: water, fire and theft</abstract>
