<abstract displayLabel="Summary">El 27 de febrero de 2010 Chile experimentó un terremoto de magnitud 8,8° Richter, uno de los mayores sismos jamás registrados. Afectó a seis regiones del país y al 80% de la población chilena, falleciendo 521 personas y ocasionando pérdidas estimadas por USD 30.000 millones según Munich RE. El siniestro puso a prueba a las compañías de seguros chilenas, especialmente a las de Seguros Generales.
