<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde el descubrimiento del efecto fotovoltaico (PV) en 1839 y de la producción de la primera célula solar en 1954. Y desde que se utilizara el primer módulo fotovoltaico en un viaje espacial en los años 50, la energía solar ha pasado a ser una importante fuente de energía alternativa. A este crecimiento ha contribuido en gran medida la mayor conciencia de responsabilidad ambiental que se ha producido en los últimos años. </abstract>
