520  ‎$a‎Plans to transform the Pearl River Delta Greater Bay Area (GBA), to a world-class megalopolis to support future economic growth in China will present opportunities in the construction sector over the next decade. On 18th February 2019, the Chinese government unveiled guidelines and plans to further develop the GBA, a region home to almost 70 million people, to spur growth in southern Guangdong Province. The goal is to connect the Special Administrative Regions (SAR) of Hong Kong and Macau, together with nine other cities within the GBA, to create a continuous megalopolis, with each major city playing a different role to support economic growth in the region. With this plan, we anticipate the creation of job opportunities in the next decade which will further accelerate urbanisation, leading to continued population growth within the GBA and create additional demand for residential housing and transport infrastructure, especially in relatively less developed areas such as Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing
