<abstract displayLabel="Summary">A lo largo del siglo XXI las sociedades occidentales tienen que afrontar grandes retos: un aumento de la prevalencia de obesidad y diabetes mellitus tipo 2, problemas medioambientales (polución, daño provocado por productos químicos) o una mayor presencia de enfermedades neurodegenerativas y neoplásicas. Para poder afrontarlos contamos con el desarrollo de nuevas herramientas tecnológicas: aparición de tecnología 5G, ciberseguridad automovilística, telemedicina, avances en nanotecnología (detección, diagnóstico y tratamiento del cáncer), robótica (cirugía, exoesqueleto) y avances en monitorización de enfermedades (frecuencia cardiaca, tensión arterial, oxigenoterapia, peso y volumen cardiaco).</abstract>
