<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La economía sénior (personas de 55 años o más) tiene un peso económico superior a su peso demográfico, aportando cerca del 33 % del PIB y el 38,7 % de los recursos de los hogares. Su capacidad media de gasto es la más alta entre todos los grupos de edad y representan el 39,3 % del consumo privado total. También contribuyen significativamente al sostenimiento del Estado, asumiendo el 42,7 % de los impuestos totales sin cotizaciones. Además, financian parte del consumo de otros miembros del hogar mediante transferencias internas. Persisten notables brechas de género en rentas y prestaciones</abstract>
