Using data from five waves (20152023) of the BAuA Working Time Survey, the study applies cross-sectional and longitudinal regression models to examine how cumulative job demands influence retirement intentions among older workers. The results show that multiple psychosocial work demands are consistently associated with a higher preference for early retirement, while physical demands play a weaker role once unobserved individual differences are controlled for. The findings highlight the importance of sustainable working conditions and job quality for extending working lives in ageing societies
