<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Les marqueurs biologiques et biochimiques sont de plus en plus utilisés en épidémiologie des cancers, mais les arguments justifiant leur introduction ne sont pas toujours clairs. En effet, on n'a pas encore bien établi quand et comment leur utilisation est scientifiquement justifiée, éthiquement correcte, et d'un bon rapport coût-efficacité. Il existe toute une gamme d'applications pour les biomarqueurs, depuis la mesure très spécifique d'une molécule isolée jusqu'à des mesures estimant l'exposition cumulée à des agents ayant le même mécanisme d'action</abstract>
