<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Une étude de mortalité a été conduite dans quatre usines du département de la Loire, sur le mode prospectif historique, dans le but de rechercher les éventuels risques de cancers broncho-pulmonaires liés aux expositions des soudeurs à l'amiante, au chrome, au nickel, en prenant en compte le tabagisme. Cette étude s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une étude plus vaste conduite en France et en Europe. La cohorte exposée comprend tous les soudeurs inscrits à l'effectif des quatre usines à la date de début de la période de surveillance. Une cohorte de référence interne de sujets non-soudeurs a ensuite été sélectionnée, dans le même effectif, par tirage au sort. La recherche des décès ont été comparés aux nombres attendus calculés d'après les taux de mortalité de la population générale française en ajustant sur le sexe, l'âge et le temps civil</abstract>
