<abstract displayLabel="Summary">La méningite à streptococcus suis type 2, connue depuis 1968, est une maladie rare, très grave, consécutive à une contamination professionnelle lors du contact avec le porc. Les auteurs rapportent une observation ayant débuté par une surdité chez un employé d'équarrissage. Après una analyse détaillée de la littérature médicale et vétérinaire concernant l'épidémiologie, les formes cliniques chez l'homme, le diagnostic bactériologique et le portage sain chez le porc, les auteurs plaident pour une reconnaissance officielle et une indemnisation de cette maladie professionnelle en France</abstract>
