<abstract displayLabel="Summary">D'après les études menées chez l'homme ou chez l'animal, les salicylates seuls ne peuvent engendrer des pertes auditives irréversibles. Les déficits auditifs observés ainsi que la diminution des performances psychoacoustiques sont temporaires. Toutefois, les effects temporaires de l'aspirine sur l'audition ne sont pas à négliger car ils peuvent être à l'origine d'accidents lorsque la communication dans le bruit et une bonne audition sont requises, spécialement en milieu industriel bruyant. De plus, associé avec le bruit, une concentration sérique importante de salicylate peut potentialiser les effets du bruit et augmenter ainsi les déficits auditifs temporaires</abstract>
