<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The aim of this study was compared the results of the two different approaches to analysis of forced expiratory volume (FEV). In the present study it have used information on 1045 men representing three occupational categories (cement workers, blue and white collar workers). The relative importance of smoking and occupation varied depending on the dividing point used for dichotomising the FEV variable</abstract>
