Centro de Documentacion de Fundación MAPFRE - A Procedure for the estimation of asbestos collected on membrane filters using transmission electron microscopy (TEM)

Notes: Sumario: A direct transfer technique wich allows samples of airborne dust collected on membrane filters (Millipore MF-series) to be transferred to TEM grids for estimation of asbestos content is described. The technique has been shown by direct observation to give quantitative transfer with no apparent fibre breakage. It has also been demonstrated that the overall procedure for estimation of fibre mass on the filter gives acceptable accuracy for analysis of standard samples.
