Title: Analysis of airborne dust samples for chrysotile by X-ray diffraction : interference by non-asbestiform serpentine / A.P. MiddletonAuthor: Middleton, A.P.
Notes: Sumario: In the course of investigating differences between results obtained for the analysis of chrysotile in airborne dust samples by TEM and by XRD, it has been established by EdXA and electron diffractio that the source dusts contain (in addition to chrysotile) particles of the non-asbestiform serpentine polymorphs, antigorite and probably lizardite. These appear to be present in sufficient quantities to cause significant interference with the 002 and 004 reflections of chrysotile, leading to serious over-estimation of the chrysotile content of samples, when using conventional X-ray diffractometer geometryRelated records: En: The Annals of occupational hygiene. - Oxford [etc.]. - nº 4, 1982 ; p. 443-447Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Contaminantes químicos Amianto Crisotilo Muestreos Contaminación atmosférica Métodos de análisis Difracción Rayos X Secondary titles: Título: The Annals of occupational hygiene
