Section: ArticlesTitle: Mass concentrations of airborne asbestos in the non-occupational environmental : a preliminary report of U.K. measurements / G.J. Burdett, J.M.M. Le Guen and A.P. RoodAuthor: Burdett, G.J.Notes: Sumario: Airborne asbestos mass concentrations were measured at a number of sites by taking high-volume electrostatic precipitator samples and analysisng by X-ray difraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD was shown to overestimate chrysotile levels owing to interference by non-fibrous analogues. The sites sampled included two asbestos waste tips, the inmediate enviroments of two asbestos products factories, a decontamination site and a busy urban road junction, as well as rural and urban background. Levels appreciably above the background were recorded at industrial sitesRelated records: En: The Annals of occupational hygiene. - Oxford [etc.]. - nº 1, 1984 ; p. 31-38Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrialContaminantes químicosAmiantoTEMSEMRayos XDifracciónMétodos de análisisCasos prácticosContaminación atmosféricaGran BretañaOtros autores: Le Guen, Jean M.M.
