Title: Comparison of a fibrous aerosol monitor (FAM) with the membrane filter method for measuring airborne asbestos concentrations / J.P. Iles and T. Shenton-TaylorAuthor: Iles, P.J.
Notes: Sumario: An early production model of the Fibrous Aerosol Monitor (FAM) has been compared with the membrane filter method, mainly for chrysolite aerosols. Correlation in laboratory trials was fairly good, but is was generally too poor in the workplaces studied for the FAM to be considered as a substitute for the membrane filter method. The FAM could be used for detecting concentration changes of a dust cloud constant composition, but by this criterion it performed little better than a non-discriminating optical particle counterRelated records: En: The Annals of occupational hygiene. - Oxford [etc.]. - nº 1, 1986 ; p. 77-87Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Contaminantes químicos Amianto Aerosoles Contaminación atmosférica Control de la contaminación MFM FAM Muestreador Estudios comparativos Otros autores: Shenton-Taylor, T.
