<subfield code="a">This study was conducted in a plant where a zinc-mercury amalgam is used for the manufacturing of dry alkaline batteries. Active-sampling personal mercury-monitors have been use to characterize the intensity of the daily exposure to mercury vapour. During 5 successive days the TWA airborne concentration of mercury vapour and the levels of mercury in blood and in urine were investigated. The relationships between daily Hg-air levels and concurrent blood and urine mercury concentrations have been examined on an individual basis</subfield>
