<abstract displayLabel="Summary">En el año 1987, la Organización Internacional de Normalización (ISO), entidad de la que forman parte cerca de 90 organismos de normalización de otros tantos países, aprobó un conjunto de normas en las que se establecieron los diferentes modelos de aseguramiento de la calidad, representantes de tres formas distintas de "capacidad funcional y organizativa" adecuadas para una situación contractual entre dos partes. Las tres normas, que son conocidas como Normas ISO de la serie 9000, son las siguientes: ISO 9001, ISO 9002 y ISO 9003</abstract>
