520  ‎$a‎Airborne chrysotile asbestos size distributions have been measured by transmission electron microscopy from air samples taken in a factory making clutches and brake shoes. The median diameters on samples taken at the three processes were 0.08, 0.13 and 0.13 microm, and the median lengths were 0.86,1.4 and 1.5 microm. Median aspect ratios were close to 10. A few per cent of fibres were longer than 5 microm, and between a fifth and a half of these would be counted by a phase-contrast optical microscope resolving 0.3 microm
