<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Pour réaliser des travaux en façade de bâtiments, l'utilisation d'échafaudages est généralement nécessaire. Les échafaudages employés sont de deux types: fixes ou volants. Les échafaudages volants sont constitués d'une plate-forme munie de deux ou trois treuils, sur les tambours desquels viennent s'enrouler des câbles de suspension, ancrés en partie sommitale de la construction. Des essais de fonctionnement ont été effectués sur des parachutes d'échafaudage en vue de déterminer les tensions maximales pouvant solliciter les câbles de secours lors de l'entrée en action de ces dispositifs. Une étude théorique menée sur ces mêmes parachutes est venue compléter les résultats expérimentaux</abstract>
