520  ‎$a‎The objective of this study was to perform an ergonomic evaluation of patient handling tasks. In particular, the objective was to identify handling tasks perceived to be most stressful by nursing assistants (NAs); perform biomechanical evaluation of these tasks; and determine frequency of occurrence of these tasks, methods used for patient transfers, and the extent of use of assistive devices. It is believed that this research would be useful in understanding the physical stresses experienced by the NAs and ergonomic problems associated with their jobs
