<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Todos los días en la industria y en todos los talleres mecánicos del mundo se efectúan miles de reparaciones y reemplazo de frenos a una gran variedad de vehículos. Para devolver a un vehículo, con frenos defectuosos, sus condiciones normales de frenaje, es necesario reemplazarle el revestimiento y/o las zapatas de los frenos. Para proteger a los mecánicos, a otros trabajadores, a los clientes y hasta a los familiares de los mecánicos, es necesario controlar las fibras de asbesto que se desprenden durante la realización del trabajo. Los mecánicos de frenos no siempre saben los peligros que tienen las fibras de asbesto. Hay estudios que han demostrado que a muchos mecánicos no se les ha enseñado los métodos y los procedimientos correctos que deben emplearse para proteger su salud y seguridad</abstract>
