There are many different forms of hazard evaluation techniques. No single technique is a clear choice for all cases. The eight techniques presented may have numerous variations and may also be recognized by a different name. These techniques can provide a systematic method for evaluating a system design to ensure that it operates as intented, help identify process areas that may result in the release of a hazardous chemical, and help suggest modifications to improve process safety
