<abstract displayLabel="Summary">The purpose of this study was to apply a precise and sensitive limulus test to the measurement of environmental endotoxin. An animal care facility was selected because it was anticipated that appreciable endotoxin aerosols would be generated by the animals and their custodians. The sensitivity and precision of this assay were tested by measuring changes in endotoxin level resulting from the cleaning of cages and by measuring background levels in the employees'lounge</abstract>
