During demolition of asbestos-containing materials, such as sprayed asbestos coatings, thermal and acoustic insulation materials, fire resistant boards, asbestos cement sheets, and flooring materials, asbestos dust is produced. In Australia, every contractor engaged in such work must notify the relevant authorities and take all necessary precautions to ensure that employee exposure to asbestos dust is controlled to a reasonably practicable minimum. During asbestos abatement of a building, plastic sheets are used to construct enclosures and to seal windows, doors, ventilation systems, wall penetrations, ceiling, and floors in the work area
