<subfield code="a">The authors are conducting a retrospective cohort study of sawmill workers with the specific aim of determining the cancer and mortality outcomes in workers exposed to chlorophenate fungicides. Since wood dust is the other major sawmill exposure and is a potential carcinogen, it was important to examine the factors contributing to airbone wood dust in order to help classify the exposures of sawmill jobs. In this paper, the authors report total and respirable wood-dust concentrations measured in two British Columbia sawmills, and the impact of weather, ventilation, employee enclosures, and other variables on these exposures</subfield>
