Title: Estimation of metabolic rate using qualitative job descriptors / Thomas E. Bernard, Bradley S. JosephAuthor: Bernard, Thomas E.
Notes: Sumario: Energy metabolism is a biochemical process by which chemical energy is converted into the energy needed to support life functions. One of these functions is to meet the demands of work. Knowing the rate of energy expenditure for work is useful for planning physically demanding work and the proper allocation of recovery time. Therefore, it is useful to know the metabolic rate associated with work in order to evaluate some of the demands on the worker. The methods of metabolic rate assessment are divided into the following categories for the sake of presentation: measurement of oxygen consumption, estimation by task analysis, estimation by activity analysis, estimation from tables, and estimation from other physiological variablesRelated records: En: American Industrial Hygiene Association journal. - Akron, Ohio. - Vol. 55, nº 11, November 1994 ; p. 1021-1029Materia / lugar / evento: Ergonomía Condiciones de trabajo Energía Metabolismo Fisiología Métodos analíticos Ratios Otros autores: Joseph, Bradley S.
