520  ‎$a‎The purpose of this article is to present simple formulae for calculating the appoximate sample size required to estimate either the true arithmetic or true geometric mean of a lognormal distribution to within a specified accuracy with a specified level of confidence. These formulae should be of interest to the industrial hygienist involved in prospective or cross-sectional studies, or establishing exposure databases to be used to assess long-term changes in worker health status
