<abstract displayLabel="Summary">Las endotoxinas son constituyentes complejos de la pared celular de las bacterias gram-negativas, cuya estructura lipopolisacarídica se conoce bien en la actualidad. Su inhalación induce síntomas respiratorios agudos y la alteración de la función respiratoria y también síntomas generales. Este estudio pasa revista a los efectos de la inhalación de endotoxinas y los estudios recientes efectuados en muchos escenarios laborales. Están implicadas en enfermedades debidas al aire acondicionado y a los humidificadores y en la bisinosis; aunque también afectan a los agricultores y a los trabajadores de plantas depuradoras de agua, de plantas de fermentación de residuos domésticos y de la industria de procesado de aves</abstract>
