Section: ArticlesTitle: Occupational exposure to low frequency magnetic fields in health care facilities / Kathy L. Philips... [et al.]Notes: Sumario: The objective of this study was to conduct a detailed characterization of occupational exposures to extremely low frequency/voice frequency (ELF/VF) magnetic fields commonly found in health care settings. Several variables reported as potentially significant in defining an exposure metric were measured by using a combination of field surveys, personal dosimetry, and work-time analysis. The contributions of specific ELF/VF field sources were identified and cross referenced to the workers'personal exposures in each monitored work area. The results from this study provide new information on sources and potential exposures to magnetic fields experienced by health care workers. In addition, these data could also be useful in designing occupational epidemiology studies, as well as in the control of exposures in the health care and other industriesRelated records: En: American Industrial Hygiene Association journal. - Akron, Ohio. - Vol. 56, nº 7, July 1995 ; p. 677-685Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrialContaminantes físicosContaminación radiológicaCampos electromagnéticosMétodos de análisisDosimetríaTiempos de trabajoEpidemiologíaOtros autores: Philips, Kathy L.
