Sumario: The purpose of this research was to investigate the potential meanings associated with simple sounds in order to provide a rationale for the design of a set of trend monitoring sounds for use in adverse conditions encountered in helicopter flight. These situations are torque, high and low rotor speed, and negative and positive 'g' forces
