520  ‎$a‎During the past 25 years neurobehavioural methods have been used increasingly in human studies to investigate effects on the central nervous system of exposure to neurotoxic chemicals. These methods assess the behavioural outcomes of toxic insult by measuring effects on aspects of cognitive functioning such as visuamotor skills, the ability to sustain attention, and higher level information processing abilities such as learning, memory, and logical reasoning. From the point of view of occupational health they offer several advantages. By far the most common application to date has been in the area of research; thus a large section of this paper is devoted to a discussion of research methods
