Title: Frequent short rest breaks from computer work : effects on productivity and well-being at two field sites / Robert A. Henning... [et al.]
Notes: Sumario: The overall goal of the present study was to determine if the previously reported beneficial effects of frequent, short rest breaks on worker productivity and well-being hold true for workers performing existing computer-mediated tasks in an actual workplace. Based on a task analysis at two separate work sites, workers were prompted when to take short rest breaks from computer work, lasting either 30 s or 3 min., at 15-min intervals throughout the work day in addition to their conventional rest breaks. In one condition of the experiment, operators were asked to perform a set of simple stretching exercises during the short breaks to accelerate recovery of the musculoskeletal system. The effects of the added rest breaks on worker productivity and well-being were then examined separately at each work siteRelated records: En: Ergonomics. - London [etc.]. - Vol. 40, nº 1, January 1997 ; p. 78-91Materia / lugar / evento: Ergonomía Ordenadores Condiciones de trabajo Productividad Postura Sistema hombre-máquina Pruebas funcionales musculares Experimentos Métodos de análisis Otros autores: Henning, Robert A.
