Sumario: Eye strain and the fatigue of neck and arm muscles produced by the use of computers have become a significant occupational health problem in a wide range of occupations. Factory work is changing from physical or skilled labour to the maintenance and monitoring of automated machines. To simplify the assessment of fatigue in the workplace, the authors designed a convenient apparatus called the Portable Fatigue Meter (PFM), which measures critical flicker fusion frequency
