Sumario: Despite challenging market conditions the use of captives continues to grow. Fortunately for reinsurers, the captive insurance market represents an opportunity not a threat. The business may have moved out of the traditional market but it is not lost to the reinsurance sector, as captives rely on reinsurance to avoid taking on too much risk.
