<abstract>La tecnología aplicada a la formación hunde sus raíces en tres factores que descansan uno encima del otro: la formación a distancia, la educación por medio del ordenador y el uso de las tecnologías Internet. Todos los modelos formativos tienen ventajas e inconvenientes, ya se trate de: formación presencial en grupos, formación a distancia --en soporte papel, en CD-ROM o en diskette--, formación a través de internet o intranet, on-line learning. Los modelos formativos más utilizados con las nuevas tecnologías son los tutoriales, las simulaciones, los EPSS, los juegos instructivos y los evaluadores. Con todo hay que tener en cuenta, por un lado los enfoques formativos (conductista o cognitivista); por otro, el perfil del alumno. La utilización de las nuevas tecnologías al servicio de la formación no da los mismos resultados para todos los tipos de participantes</abstract>
