<abstract>La presencia en España de un número significativo de extranjeros que vienen y trabajan es relativamente nueva y se inicia principalmente desde el comienzo de los años noventa, incrementando desde entonces de una manera notoria. El artículo realiza un acercamiento al conocimiento cuantitativo de las características sociodemográficas de los extranjeros residentes en España y respecto a su presencia en el mercado de trabajo formal</abstract>
