<abstract>En este artículo se estudian las reformas que han formado parte de la transformación global, tanto política como económica y social, de Europa central y oriental tras la caída de los régimenes comunistas en 1989. Como ejemplos se tomasn los casos de la República Checa, Hungría y Polonia, describiendo y comparando el progreso de las reformas, sus resultados y sus principales problemas. En su mayor parte, el impulso de estas reformas ha surgido dentro del país, aunque las instituciones europeas también hayan representado un papel destacado</abstract>
