<abstract>Electronic innovations that are slowly but surely changing the very nature of driving need to be tested before being introduced to the market. To meet this need  a system for integrated virtual prototyping and testing has been developed. Functional virtual prototypes of various traffic systems, such as a driver assistance, driver information, and multimedia systems can now be easily tested in a driving simulator by a rapid prototyping approach </abstract>
