<abstract>The purposes of this study were to conduct a field trial comparing the concentrations of nitrous oxide found in nurses breathing zones and in labor and delivery rooms when using the new and conventional scavenging systems, to investigate other factors that might contribute to increased or reduced nitrous oxide levels in the labor-delivery rooms, and to gauge the acceptability of the new system to patients and nursing staff</abstract>
