Notes: Sumario: The present study was conducted in a hospital that began a bone marrow transplant program in 1991. Initially, there were four rooms equipped with HEPA filters on one floor of the hospital that were designated to house the bone marrow transplant recipients. To accommodate the increasing number of such patients, a larger unit was constructed on the opposite end of the same floor between January and July 1992. Thus, the present study was site-specific. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effectiveness of the measures taken to contain dust and fungal spores within the construction zone. Total particulates and total spore counts were measured in the air in the construction zone and in the surrounding patient area. Particle size distributions were determined, and fungi isolated from air samples were identifiedRelated records: En: American Industrial Hygiene Association journal. - Akron, Ohio. - Vol. 56, nº 7, July 1995 ; p. 706-712Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Evaluación higiénica Hospitales Contaminantes biológicos Hongos Contaminación del aire Control de la contaminación Otros autores: Wadowsky, Robert M.
