Title: Stimulation and release of prostaglandins and thromboxane from macrophages by cotton dust associated lipopolysaccharides / M.H. Elissalde, R.C. BeierAuthor: Elissalde, M.H.
Notes: Sumario: Decreases in the ventilation capacity of human lungs following the inspiration of cotton dust correlates more closely with the concentration of endotoxin in the dust than with any other parameter measured thus far. This study describes a new method to identify and quantitative the in vitro production and release of a large variety of AA (arachidonic acid) metabolites by cells. Furthermore, this method was utilized to investigate the changes in the metabolism of AA to prostaglandins and thromboxane by macrofages in response to a purified LPS (lipopolysaccharide) derived from enterobacter agglomerans, a bacterium commonly associated with cotton dustRelated records: En: American Industrial Hygiene Association journal. - Akron, Ohio. - Vol. 51, nº 12, December 1990 ; p. 652-658Materia / lugar / evento: Higiene industrial Contaminantes biológicos Bacterias Polvo de algodón Control biológico Métodos de control Ventilación pulmonar Otros autores: Beier, R.C.
