MAP20090098367Assessing the risks of climate change : financial implications. — London : ABI, 2009Sumario: The ABI has commissioned research to understand the financial implications of climate change better. This shows that, for example, the annual average insured losses from inland flooding in Great Britain will rise by 6% and the losses from an extreme event by 18% as a result of the 2ºC increase. These higher losses will feed through into higher insurance premium and restrict the availability of capital. In addition to the well-documented human and social costs of climate change, the research demonstrates that the financial consequences will touch us all and have a significant impact on the global economy1.
