This is in stark comparison with a disappointing ROE of -5%, comprehensive loss of $8 billion, and 16% contraction In aggregate capital and surplus reported by these companies In 2008. while the market's Improved operating performance In 2009 helped Bermuda (re)Insurers significantly boost their capital position and strengthen their balance sheets, It also highlighted the continued rollercoaster experienced by these players over the past 10 years</abstract>
