<dc:description xml:lang="es">Sumario: The recent movement toward lighting systems, solid state technology, and renewable energy technologies has resulted in an increase in non linear power to building wiring systems. Non-linear power has an impact on various safety provisions of the National Electrical Code, including, for example: (a) harmonics in neutral conductors; (b) load calculations; (c) integration of non-linear loads on multi-wire branch circuits; and (d) over-current protection and AFCI and GFCI devices. This projects goals was to provide users of the NEC and NFPA 70B with guidance on this issue. The study reviews research relevant to safety and serviceability issues, provides case study examples of harmonic surveys, and provides guidance and recommended further studies to inform the NEC and NFPA 70B</dc:description>
